1939-1945 Star; Air Crew Europe Star; Defence Medal, Canadian issue; Canadian Service Medal; War Medal, Canadian issue. With Canadian Memorial Cross, G.VI.R. (F.O. C.J.Preece J18833). With 3 sets of Pilot's wings, various photographs and log book. Extremely fine. (Lot)

  • Flying Officer C.J.Preece began flying in July 1941, he transfers to flying Blenheims in August 1942. In April 1944 he transfers to Mosquitos. On the 10th June 1944 he shoots down a JU88 aircraft and on the 18th June he shoots down a V1. He continues around the D-Day period to carry out various French patrols and these are mixed with Diver patrols. He is killed in a flying accident on the 23rd November 1944, and is buried in Clapham (St.Thomas of Canterbury) Churchyard.
