Egypt 1882-89, dated reverse, no bar (D.R.L.Nicholson. Nav: Cad. R.N. H.M.S. "Alexandra"); 1914-15 Star (Capt. D.R.L.Nicholsn, R.N.); British War and Victory Medal (R.Adml.D.B.L.Nicholson.); Coronation 1902, silver issue; Coronation 1911; Khedive's Star, dated 1882. Mounted as worn. Some star marks to the first, otherwise very fine. (7)

    Admiral Sir Douglas Romilly Lothian Nicholson was born on the 4th March 1867, he was the son of the late General Sir Lothian Nicholson K.C.B. and Hon Mary Romilly, daughter of 1st Lord Romilly. He served in the Egyptian War, and was Commodore of H.M.Yachts 1913-1914. He served in the Grand Fleet as a Captain and Rear-Admiral during the War 1914-18. Vice-Admiral Commanding Reserve Fleet 1922-23; Admiral 1925; retired list 1926. He died on 8th February 1946.
