The C.I.E. and C.B.E. group of four to L.French, Indian Civil Service,
The Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire, C.I.E., breast badge in gold and enamel, top suspension absent; The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, C.B.E., 1st type, Civil Division; Delhi Durbar 1911, silver issue; Indian Recruiting Badge. Mounted in a frame with two medals of H.H. The Maharaja Irajgan Jagatjit Singh of Kapurthala in silver and bronze-gilt. With miniature medals which also include a C.S.I. and Delhi Durbar 1903, minor other badges etc. Housed in wooden frame for display. Very fine or better. (Lot)

    Lewis French was born in October 1873, he was educated at Merchant Taylors' School and St.John's College Oxford. He served with the Indian Civil Service and was Secretary to Government of the Punjab. During WW1 he was Secretary for Military Affairs to the Punjab Government, and Secretary to the Provincial Recruiting Board.
