By Wm. Deane Fecit, Dated 1725
Of flat triangular form, one side engraved with numbered scales for 'Nature of Gunns', 'Diametr. of Gunns', 'Diametr. of Shott' and 'Diametr. of Shott gauge', inscribed 'The Calibers of great Gunns & Shott Gauges, 1725' above, the maker's name below, and on the other side with a scale along both sides numbered from '50' to '740' (some surface patination), the top pierced with a hole for suspension
