A Rare Russian Bronze Mortar
Cast At Bryansk, No. 141, Dated 1847
Cast in three stages including a raised muzzle-ring, the rear section numbered 'No. 141' above 'Bryansk', both within slightly recessed panels, inscribed 'F. Nazarov' and 'Year 1847' either side of the copper-lined touch-hole, and 'S.H.O.P.A.' beneath, all the inscriptions in Russian, and plain trunnions: on later wooden bed with original bronze trunnion caps
38 cm. barrel, 15.8 cm. bore
