A late 19th century two-colour gold presentation cigarette and vesta case combination
by Fabergé, workmaster August Holmström, '56' standard, St. Petersburg 1899-1908
Rectangular form with curved sides, the body decorated with an all-over alternating rose and yellow gold reeded sunburst, one end with concealed vesta compartment, cabochon sapphire thumbpiece, the interior of cover script engraved with a presentation inscription: 'Grand Duke Nicholas de Russie, 1912' on an engraved sunburst ground, length 10cm, weight total 178.7gms.
