A George III silver two-handle trophy vase
by Paul Storr, London 1815
Campana form with flared lobed banded rim, inscription to front, with two upright reeded handles embellished with shells and leaf scrolls, lion mask terminals issuing from the lower part fluted body, on a pedestal foot, height 25cm, weight 42.5oz.

    William Locket Agnew (1858-1918), George William Agnew (1852–1941) and Charles Morland Agnew (1855–1931) were partners of the firm Thomas Agnew and Sons.
    In the London Gazette entry of 7 April 1903 notice is given when George William Agnew retired from the firm.

    AGNEW'S, dealers in Old Master pictures in London, was established by Thomas Agnew in partnership with V. Zanetti, of Manchester, in 1817, and traded from 1876 to 2013. William Lockett Agnew ran the firm after the retirement of his uncle Sir William in 1896.
