A 20th century Indian silver three-piece tea service
stamped 'Vummidiar' 'Pure Silver' to base, probably Bombay, circa 1920
Oval form with reed and bead borders and elephant's head handles, the pot with domed hinge lid surmounted by a finial formed as a Hindu deity riding an elephant, the bodies chased with bands depicting hunting scenes within scroll and flower cartouches, each on a oval collet foot and raised on four bun feet, the teapot with presentation inscription, length of teapot 30cm, weight total 75oz. (3)
