by George Roth & Co, Hanau, with import marks for Edwin Thompson Bryant, London 1905
In the French style, circular form with raised husk rim, the sides embossed with central cartouches flanked by floral cornucopias and floral scrolls between reed and ribbon bands, the cover inset with a raised ivory panel depicting Louis XVI of France with his Marie Antoinette, based on a late 18th century miniature by Joseph Sauvage Piet, diameter 18cm, weight total 24.5oz.
