Compressed circular form, the hinged lid with enamelled scene of a couple reading in a landscape and opening to reveal a gilt interior and removable grille, the underside also with enamelled scene of a couple playing the lute, with translucent red enamel sides embellished with painted gold scrolls, with ring attachment, diameter 2.3cm; together with a collection of boxes, comprising: two silver and tortoiseshell patch boxes, by Levi & Salaman, Birmingham 1906 and 1911, one inlaid with coast of arms, the other with floral roundel, a plain circular patch box by Levi & Salaman, Birmingham 1920, a similar example, by Crisford & Norris Ltd, Birmingham 1911, plain, a small Irish box, by William Egan & Sons, Dublin 1947, cylindrical form, the cover engraved with initials, a 19th century German snuff box, by Karl Kurz, Kesselstadt, with import marks for Samuel Boyce (Boaz) Landeck, Chester 1905, rectangular form, embossed with a shepherdess and her sheep, a similar example, stamped 'TRB' 925 'XR', heart form; and two mother of pearl and silver pen knives, Sheffield 1900, weight of weighable silver 3.5oz.
