An 18th century Italian silver-gilt goblet
maker's mark VL, Venice, stamped thrice with town mark and once with maker's mark
Tulip-shaped bowl with quatrefoil rim and the sides flat chased and embossed with trefoil cartouches edged with "C" scrolls above acanthus leaves, the knopped tripartite column edged with scrolls, terminating in a domed and spread circular foot with similar decoration, height 16.5cm, weight 4.56oz.
