with 1895 date letter and Dutch export mark, import marks for Samuel Boyce Landeck, Sheffield 1895
Of square form, the hinged lid embossed with a scene of two children playing, the underside embossed with a man walking towards a windmill, polished sides, gilt interior; together with three others, one continental example, maker's mark 'BWE', with London import marks, 1926, rounded rectangular form, the hinged lid embossed with a 17th century village scene, the sides with foliate scroll borders, and two English examples, the first by Cooper Bros & Sons, Birmingham 1903, of rectangular form, the hinged lid and sides heavily embossed with flowers and c-scrolls, gilt interior, the second, by A C & S Ltd, London 1973, rounded rectangular form with applied husk borders, the hinged lid embossed with three figures within a country village, gilt interior, weight 7oz. (4)
