A Victorian silver presentation flagon

Tapering form, the body profusely embossed with panels of circular and ovoid lobes, acanthus leaves and foliate scrolls between husked bands, the centre embossed in high relief with two classical masks and a central presentation inscription, the domed cover embossed with lobes and flutes among chrysanthemums with an octagonal baluster finial, openwork scroll thumbpiece, the leaf-capped scroll handle with ivory insulators, on a flaring circular base, height 29cm, weight 42oz.
