by George Manjoy, London 1684
with circular bowls, width 3.8cm, together with a pair of miniature octagonal trencher salt cellars and a single example, by David Clayton, London circa 1725, ovoid bowls with stepped sloping sides, length 2.8cm, a rat-tail Hanoverian pattern spoon, maker's mark only, also by David Clayton, length 5.4cm, and a further elongated octagonal trencher salt, maker's mark only I S, possibly Joseph Smith, length 2.8cm.     The Clayton example and the latter part of this lot were offered by How on approval 15 October 1943 and purchased soon afterward; "Two trencher salts (not a pair),one by Courtauld, one by I S, circa 1720. These are very rare. £19."
