The present work is a page from Moore's 1950 sketchbook. Ann Garrould elaborates 'The Figures on the beach at Frinton are probably the four-year-old Mary with her father, her uncle George and an unknown man. The faint sketch of a girl looking down may be of Moore's niece.' Charles Rosner, Hungarian by birth, was the founder of The Sylvan Press and author of a number of notable publications on typography and printmaking.
