in the Régence style
the rectangular arched case with arched caddy top centred by female maskhead and surmounted by a figure of Cronos, the corners with flambeau urn finials, the arched glazed hinged front flanked by caryatids and applied with a relief cast plaque of classical god seated in a chariot, on recumbent horse supports raised on a shaped platform base with faux fringed apron, on moulded square peg feet, the 7¼ inch brass dial with separate enamel Roman numerals, the brass twin drum movement with outside countwheel striking on gong, with later brass pendulum and door key, 97cm high
