the dial signed Gosselin, Paris
the foliate carved oak case with cartouche shaped hood over the gadrooned throat moulding and straight trunk, over the plinth base on foliate cabriol feet, the signed 10 inch twelve piece break arch dial, mounted on a falseplate, with subsidiary seconds below XII and silvered calendar dial beneath VI, between two allegorical figures bordering the enamel signature plate, the 26 day duration movement with weight driven going train on a Huygens loop, the hour and quarter strike powered by two seperate barrels, the rectangular plates united by eight tapered baluster pillars, with outside countwheels for hours and quarters mounted on the backplate. 260cm high
