An early Victorian gilt metal and porcelain mounted tulipwood bonheur du jour
in the Louis XV revival style
with quarter veneering, mounted with fruiting floral pendants, scrolled acanthus, flowers, rocaille, drapery swags and a cabochon-and-leaf border, the galleried superstructure comprising a central recess with mirrored back, flanked by two doors (locked) centred with Sevres style porcelain ovals depicting youthful courting couples, above a shaped frieze with three short drawers, on cabriole legs, with a paper label to the underside bearing the pen inscription: 'This cabinet I leave to my dear Mary... March 1866...' 124cm wide x 60cm deep x 112cm high, (48.5" wide x 23.5" deep x 44" high)
