Footnotes

  • Beaumont was a keen mountaineer and during the early 1930s spent his annual holidays in the Swiss Alps. This work of two mountain guides derives from one of those hiking and climbing trips. He produced a small group of intimate linocuts which were intended to form his third publication, however this venture was never realised.
