For many years I have lived next door to the fabulous Villa Mabrouka, the Tangier, Moroccan home to the late Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé. Tangier is very proud to be the location of the oldest American Legation in the world.
Some years ago this venerable institution sought to raise much needed funds with a charity auction. Monsieur Bergé graciously and generously donated, amongst other lots, this wondrous lamp from his home Villa Mabrouka. I in turn was privileged to be able to acquire this treasure. Made by one of the "greats" in the history of Design and subsequently owned by the legendary aesthetes, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé.
