A collection of late 18th/early 19th Century mourning jewellery
All inset with ivory panels, painted en grisaille, comprising firstly a large oval pendant, depicting a grieving family before a funerary urn beneath weeping willow tree, glazed verso (later pendant fitting), together with an oval clasp, the panel depicting a country church and funerary urn on pedestal, with the motto 'Mors janua vitae' beneath, a white paste bordered oval pendant, a white paste set brooch of rectangular form with canted corners, a further similarly shaped brooch, a marquise ring and two stickpins, first pendant length 8.2cm. (8)
