Footnotes

  • Jane Elizabeth Beverly married John Cox Lynch (1827-1896) on 13 June 1850. Sources vary as to how many children the couple had. Some record three, named Mary (b.1851), Emily (b.1856) and Sidney (b.1858), whilst the handwritten inscription to the reverse of the frame states that they had six daughters, of which, Leila Catherine and Margaret respectively married Alan Ogier Ward and the Reverend H. Jollye.
