Signed on the obverse and dated Herman 1831, rectangular brown leather traveling case; together with a portrait miniature of a Gentleman (cracked) (English School, circa 1780), faceted gold frame, the reverse glazed to reveal strands of hair elaborately looped and set with split seed pearls and gilt-wire on blue glass, surrounded by carved wooden floral motifs; six 19th century portrait miniatures (five: oval and housed in gilt-metal frames, of which one carries hair setting to the reverse; the sixth: rectangular and housed in a red leather traveling case); a late 19th century oval portrait miniature of a Child, painted on porcelain over a photograph base, rectangular traveling case with plum coloured velvet to lining and exterior.
