  • A SCARCE COPY of this privately printed and circulated arboricultural study, illustrated by Andrew Young of Burntisland. The manuscript letter, dated 1894 and addressed to P.H. Normand from a Mr. Hardil, a Forester, mentions "a few measurements of trees, both of those referred to in [the] book, also one or two others which [have been] measured and are not mentioned in the book". The manuscript captions to several text leaves refer to unrecorded trees in the Aberdour area, including "three fine [Holly] specimens" in Dombristle. The newspaper clipping, from The Scotsman, 22nd May 1894, details a visit by the Royal Scottish Arboriculture Society to Raith.
