CAREW (RICHARD) The Survey of Cornwall, first edition, woodcut device on title, engraved folding map, some tonal browning, 78 MARGINAL ARMORIAL ILLUSTRATIONS in pen and ink on 42 pages, note in later hand on verso of first blank leaf ("This Book has in it Coats of Arms trick'd with a pen by William Burton of Lindley Esq; & done in 1602. See Tho. Rawlinson's English Topographer, p. 29"), additional manuscript leaf ("Index Cognominum") tipped-in at end, in contemporary limp vellum with ties, lettering to spine, upper cover slightly bowed [STC 4615], small 4to, Printed by S.S. for John Jaggard, 1602
