A Staffordshire figure group of 'Perswaition'
Circa 1825
Modelled with a couple sat on a yellow bench, the gentleman in turquoise coat and purple breeches, a black top hat upturned on the floor beside him, offering a ring to the lady, who sits in yellow dress, blue shawl, and purple gloves and bonnet, holding a red book in her right hand, and a blue parasol in her left, a small dog sat between them, and a large potted plant to her right, with distinctive 'pine-cone' bocage behind, and with yellow, rectangular plaque beside the top hat, marked 'PERSWAITION', all on a base with moulded scrollwork; 20cm high, 18cm wide.
