Probably Celtic
The rounded bald male head depicted with pronounced rimmed eyes and pupils, the short nose with recessed nostrils, the slashed mouth framed by a heavy ridged moustache, 9in (23cm) high


  • Provenance:
    UK private collection. Found in a Wiltshire barn in the 1970s and subsequently loaned and displayed in the Wiltshire Archaeological Society Museum, Devizes in the 1970s. It was authenticated by Dr Anne Ross in the 1970s.
