An Etruscan terracotta polychrome cinerary urn lid
Circa 2nd Century B.C.
From a rectangular urn, moulded with an image of the deceased, depicting a woman enveloped in drapery coated in white slip, reclining on her left side on a couch painted with pink and yellow slip, her head resting on two pillows, the upper white, the lower red, her hair painted brown with the details of her face heightened with colour, 13¾in x 7in (35cm x 18cm)
