The deep terra sigillata bowl with moulded decoration including four panels of gladiators in combat interspersed with lions, bears and birds, 5½in (13.5cm) high, 6¼in (15.5cm) diam

    A bowl of similar form can be found in the British Museum, acc. no. PE 1853.1-10.5: a central Gaulish Samian ware vase of form Dragendorff 30, with the name-stamp of the potter Divixtus in the decoration, A.D. 150-190.
