An Arts and Crafts silver bowl
by D & G Edwards, Glasgow 1902
The font shaped bowl embossed and chased with a mythical scene; Neptune rising from the sea driving three hippocamps led by sea nymphs, the opposite side depicting five Viking sailing ships, raised on an engraved fluted stem, terminating in a stepped and domed foot, engraved around the rim with presentation inscription, applied with internal drop ring handles and with fitted plated liner, height 24.5cm, diameter 25.3cm, weight 55.2oz.
