The first a karakuri-netsuke formed as a wasp resting on its nest, containing grubs which protrude when upturned, with inlaid horn eyes and tips, 5.3cm long, the okimono depicting 'the disappointed ratcatcher', crouched over his trap but turning with horrified expression to watch two rats escape over his back, inlaid horn pupils,
