The textured bark 18 carat yellow gold fancy-link necklace of flattened woven mesh design, to a brilliant-cut diamond set concealed clasp, maker's mark RCK, numbered, London hallmark, damage to mesh, length 48.4cm, cased by Cartier (non fitted)


  • By repute, this necklace was purchased at Cartier in the 1960's.

    Roy Cecil King (1913-2000) was a British watch designer and jeweller. In the 1930's he manufactured watches and jewellery for Cartier, Garrard and Rolex amongst others. After the war he made watches under his name and worked for Bueche-Girod. In 1961, Roy King atelier won the top prizes at the British Modern Jewellery exhibition. His clients included Saudi princes and The Beatles. He was renowned for his bark finish designs.
