The row of uniform 6.6mm cultured pearls, suspending a pear-shaped cabochon moonstone, surmounted by a pierced plaque inset with brilliant-cut diamonds, to a similarly-set circular cabochon moonstone clasp, in closed-back settings, maker's mark GF, length 79.0cm, pendant 5.8cm

  • Born in 1927, Gerda Flöckinger is recognised worldwide for developing new techniques which included controlled fusion with precious metals to obtain fine textures, broken surfaces, and fluid lines. She was the first living female designer to have an exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in 1971.
