    The present painting is a copy after a fragment of a lost original by Sir Peter Paul Rubens's The Daughters of Cecrops finding Erichthonius in the Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin College, Ohio. The original composition is known through a copy by Boucher in the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm.
