A fine pair of famille rose 'hundred deer' vases

Of archaistic hu shape, the rounded sides brightly and vividly enamelled with a continuous scene of a herd of deer grazing, prancing and resting in a luxuriant landscape amidst fruiting peach and pine trees, the stags, bucks, does and their young depicted with spotted and dappled fur in reddish brown, brown and white, the shoulder set with a pair of stylised dragon handles in iron-red and gilt. 46cm (18in) high (2).
