The present vase is charged with symbolic meanings, from the peach-shaped washer and lingzhi fungus associated with longevity to the finger citron symbolic of Buddha's hand and hence divine protection, and a homonym of happiness. The archaistic gu vase may represent the morals associated with antiquity of simplicity, honesty and happy exuberance. The adult and young chi dragons convey the message of a father teaching his son the way of life.
