An Imperial kesi silk robe
Late Qing Dynasty
The yellow silk ground featuring the twelve symbols of Imperial Authority and nine gilt-thread five-clawed dragons chasing flaming pearls, surrounded by clouds, bats and shou characters, above mountains, crashing waves and a lishui hem, trimmed with navy kesi dragon bands and horseshoe cuffs, the lower sleeves and lining of yellow roundel damask silk.
