the 3/4 horizontally mounted egg with lion mask handles, on an oval beaded chased base with applied seated indigenous hunter holding a club and two emus, fern stem issuing large branches,the egg opening to reveal an inkwell, domed cover with engraved decoration and emu finial amongst ferns, all on an oval wooden plinth and vacant cartouche
26cm (10") high.
