An Australian silver mounted 'cameo' emu egg
by Jochim Mathias Wendt, Adelaide, circa 1870
raised on a chased domed base, the vertically mounted egg carved with a kangaroo amongst ferns, cast emu finial, "WENDT/crown/lion passant/Queen Victoria's head", on an ebonised plinth, 24cm(9") high.
