Footnotes

  • The model for the present table was by Adam Weisweiler (1744-1820) for Marie-Antoinette's Cabinet Intérieur in the Château de Saint-Cloud in 1784 (today in the Louvre, Paris). The very distinctive bronze mounts from the original were possibly by François Remond, and the entire creation was orchestrated by the marchand mercier Daguerre.
