An ivory 'boy and double gourd' snuff bottle
Qing dynasty, 1800-1900
Finely carved in the form of a young boy depicted supporting a sumptuous double-gourd, the tip of the gourd the aperture of the vessel, all naturalistically rendered with sensitive attention to detail, the boy's face set in a mischievous expression, with additional deftly incised lines delineating the creases of his robes, retaining original pigments.
