• As early as in Sir William Bragge's book, Bibliotheca Nicotiana, which was first published in 1874 and republished in 1880, fossilised limestone snuff bottles were already recorded. The production of fossilised limestone snuff bottle existed as early as the mid-nineteenth century.   清 1730-1880 灰石鼻煙壺
  
  壺呈扁方形，圓角，短直頸，橢圓形圈足。灰石黑色地，上有不規則白色斑點，斑點中再有不同灰色，簡約中帶點水墨般的變化。
