A moulded 'famille-rose' porcelain 'eighteen luohans' snuff bottle
Qing dynasty, Jiaqing period
Of compressed form with a flat lip and recessed flat oval foot surrounded by a convex footrim, the body moulded with the eighteen luohan, all with distinctive attributes and all vividly painted in coloured enamels and against a ground of formalised waves, the foot inscribed in iron-red with an indistinct seal mark.
