An agate 'Spanish coin' snuff bottle
Qing dynasty, 1780-1840
Of compressed circular form, with a straight cylindrical neck and a concave oval foot, the body intricately carved on one side with a Spanish coat of arms with a crown and flanked by two figures, the reverse with the head of Charles III of Spain wearing a laurel wreath, both sides with Latin inscriptions at the rounded edge of the medallion.
