Herakut is in fact a two person collective Hera is from Frankfurt, and Kut from Erfrut in former East Germany. Meeting in 2004, their brief personal relationship has developed into an ongoing creative endeavor. The desire to get their work seen by the public has inspired their street art background, and both cite counter-culture poet Jeffrey McDaniel as a strong influence. Their methods are unconventional, each working separately on their paintings without the consultation of the other, and while their styles are distinctive and diverse, both are always happy with the end result. The contrast of spray paint and more traditional hand painting combine in these dream-like works, the battle between the two styles achieving a satisfying, if often surreal, end result.
