Sugata (configuration): hon-zukuri, iori-mune koshi-zori, chu-gissaki
Kitae (forging pattern): ko-itame with ji-nie
Hamon (tempering pattern): choji-midare in nie with ashi and yaki-dashi
Boshi (tip): ko-maru with a long return
Nakago (tang): ubu with one hole and kiri file marks, signed Bishu Osafune ju Yokoyama Kaga (no) suke Ason Fujiwara Sukenaga and chrysanthemum crest and ichimon-ji and dated Tempyo roku-nen ni-gatsu bi (A day in the sixth month of 1835)
Habaki (collar): one-piece, gold-foil
Nagasa (length from tip to beginning of tang): 27 3/8in (69.6cm)
Motohaba (width at start of tempered edge): 1 1/4in (3.2cm)
Sakihaba (width before tip): 3/4in (1.9cm)

Koshirae comprising a black-lacquer saya fitted with a shakudo-nanako-ji kozuka and wari-kogai with a pastoral scene and with birds in iroe taka-zogan; the tsuka with a shibuichi nanako-ji fuchi with a rooster and ferns and a horn kashira and with copper pheasant menuki; iron sukashi tsuba carved with spokes and stylized birds in flight
