Nakago (tang): ubu, kuri-jiri with one hole, suji-kai file marks and signed Shinkei Tanemitsu tsukuru and dated Keio san-nen ni-gatsu bi (A day in the second month of 1867)
Habaki (collar): one-piece, gold-foil
Nagasa (length from tip to beginning of tang): 29 1/2in (74.9cm)
Motohaba (width at start of tempered edge): 1 1/4in (3.2cm)
Sakihaba (width before tip): 1in (2.5cm)
In shirasaya (wood storage scabbard) with sayagaki, signed and dated by Tanobe Michihiro
With Hozon Token (Sword worthy of preserving) certificate no. 335393 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (The Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword), dated 1994.7.7.
With kantei certificate no. 12241 issued by the Nihon Token Hozon Kai (Japan Sword Preservation Society), dated 1993.5.7.
