Hamon (tempering pattern): sudare-ba with long lines of nie and changing to ko-midare near the tip on the omote with sunagashi, Tobi-yaki and yaki-dashi
Boshi (tip): ko-maru
Nakago (tang): ubu, iri-yamagata, one hole and katte-sagari file marks, signed Tamba (no) kami Yoshimichi
Habaki (collar): one-piece, gold-foil

19th-century koshirae comprising a brownish red-lacquer saya with transverse spiral ridges mounted with silvered-copper kurikata and kojiri in an ishime finish; tsuka mounted with shakudo migaki-ji fuchi-gashira decorated with fans, pines and geometric patterns in iroe hira-zogan and shakudo and gold menuki carved as sprays of flowers; the Choshu iron sukashi tsuba carved with chrysanthemum leaves and flowers
