The configuration hon-zukuri, iori-mune with a shallow torii-zori and slightly extended kissaki, the forging patten itame mixed with ko-mokume and with a narrow sugu-ba tempered edge and a ko-maru boshi, the omote carved with futatsu-bi and the ura with bo-hi, O-suriage tang with two holes and later file marks; one-piece silver habaki; 28 1/8in (66.4cm) long

Koshirae comprising a saya wrapped in ray skin and lacquered aogai and polished down to reveal the nodes of the ray skin; the tsuka wrapped in blue silk and mounted with gilt-copper menuki of dragons, and gold and shakudo nanako-ji fuchi-gashira with dragons in high-relief; mokko shakudo nanako-ji tsuba with a dragon in clouds in gold taka-zogan
