Hon-zukuri, iori-mune, chu-gissaki, koshi-zori, forged in an itame-hada and with a gunome-choji-midare tempered edge with ko-ashi and a midare-komi boshi, the tang ubu, kuri-jiri with three holes (one plugged) and indistinct file marks, signed Bishu Osafune Norimitsu and dated Oei juichi-nen hachi-gatsu bi (A day in the 8th month of 1404); one-piece gold-foil habaki; 26 3/8in (67cm) long

With a black-lacquer saya and blue-silk wrapped tsuka fitted with iron shakudo nanako-ji fuchi-gashira with plovers over crashing waves in iroe taka-zogan signed Teirin and with kao; Umetada school shakudo tsuba piece carved with spokes and finished in a stone surface, signed Umetada
